Back to Reality

Back in KL for nearly 2 weeks now. Fortunately, the weather wasn't scorching as I'd feared.

Was back at work the day after I arrived, jumping in with two feet... still haven't really gotten back in the groove yet, and I feel more disenchanted the more time I spend there.

Then, a few days ago, this terrible flu hit me really hard and brought me down low. So low, the company's panel docs gave me 3 days off. Am still suffering from it, and am unable to go for the picnic organised by Allegra today. Oh well.

On a more cheery note, I finally got my Zildjian zills, which Nadya helped to order from a local music instrument shop (thanks, babe!). We waited 6 months for it! Gawd. They sound great though, lovely pitch, really loud and resonant, great for larger venues. It's so nice to have a pro set at last. Now, to learn how to play it well...

Am really excited about the new costumes I have planned... the new tribal fusion troupe costume has a jungle theme, and the main colours to use are shades of brown and green. I've a lot of ideas for this, and am just thinking of ways to pull them off in a practical manner. Also, I really need to finish my blue costume (long-overdue)... sigh, so many ideas, so little time! Need to stop dreaming and start doing. :P

Finally, am really looking forward to watching Mystical Steppes Along the Silk Road, performed by the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar Theatre Dance Troupe, with A next week! The costumes and music are so beautiful (from what I've seen in the video - this link begins downloading the vid, which is now unavailable thru the website), and I see elements of Chinese, Middle Eastern and Russian dance in the one performance I watched online! Really fascinating. :)

Will go lie down now. Tha drugs make me seepy.
